Download Technical Data SheetHow does LEO navigate?
LEO navigates by following optical signs
LEO’s camera sensor recognises paths that have been marked on the floor by adhesive tape or painted lines and reads navigation commands programmed into data matrix markers, i.e. movement is directed by a combination of software and sensor-based guidance systems. In addition, the routing is visible to people.
This eliminates the need for time-consuming measurement of your warehouse or production hall as well as additional path markings. In addition, the floor of your building will not be damaged.
Navigation is easier than ever
- Easy system set-up
- Flexible routing and safe operation
- Low operating costs
How do BITO LEO transporters navigate?
LEO follows optical floor markings
Optical navigation
Unlike inductive or free navigation systems, optical navigation does not require any preparation of the floor or additional sensor or software equipment. All you need is adhesive tape or painted lines in various colours and adhesive floor markers. Routes can be changed easily and quickly.
Routing options
AGV routes are determined by marking paths with adhesive tape or painted track lines on the floor.
Traffic monitoring with markers
Markers are used as traffic and road signs. They direct LEO transporters to their destinations and ensure that the AGV reduces its speed where necessary such as before sharp bends. Approximately 40 basic commands can be combined into a variety of instructions.
Wear and tear resistant path marking
Floor marking tape as well as the markers are very durable and withstand being driven over by forklift trucks and other service vehicles. The tape comes with a plastic coating and is highly abrasion resistant. Dirt can simply be wiped off.
Camera sensor system for accurate positioning
LEO transporters are equipped with a special camera sensor system that detects lane tapes, reads markers and implements commands.
Optical track marking systems increase safety at work
AGV tracks marked with lane tapes are clearly visible to people and can be easily kept free. Damage can be detected and repaired by own staff.
LEO pathways are easy to modify
Define routes as needed
Track determination for LEO could not be easier: Apply the tape to the floor, switch on the LEO transporter, place it on the track and the system is up and running! Whether your AGV operates in a warehouse or a production environment, whether pedestrian or forklift traffic must be integrated - we have the right solution for every application.
It is also possible to combine several solutions to suit your project.
Track tape FLEX
Easiest and cheapest floor marking tape. Suitable for low-use environments or for simply testing new track courses.
Track tape ROBUST
Standard lane marking tape for most applications. Suitable for normal loads and resistant to floor cleaning.
Track tape ULTRA
Ideal for old, porous floors and varying surfaces. The 150mm wide tape is perfect for creating an eye-catching contrast between floor and tape.
Painted tracks
Solution for highly frequented areas. Painted tracks also cope with forklift traffic and do not need a lot of maintenance.
