About Newmatik

Newmatik GmbH is an innovative electronics manufacturer with nearly 40 years of experience and the spirit of a startup. Founded in 1990 as ESO Electronic Service Ottenbreit GmbH, the company was renamed Newmatik in 2023 to underscore its forward-looking focus. Today, Newmatik is an internationally active specialist in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) with locations in Germany and Romania and customers on five continents.
At its headquarters in Hennweiler, Rhineland-Palatinate, Newmatik offers express services such as 10-day rapid prototyping and engineering support, while the facility in Lipova, Romania, enables cost-efficient series production. With over 100 employees, the company combines German engineering expertise with digitalization, automation, and a clear vision: to revolutionize electronics manufacturing online.

What unites BITO and Newmatik is not only their geographical proximity in Rhineland-Palatinate, but also a close partnership based on mutual respect. Newmatik not only uses our innovative intralogistics solution, LEO, in its own processes, but is also a key supplier to us: the electronic components fitted in our LEO vehicles come directly from their production facilities. This mutual collaboration creates genuine synergies – we benefit from Newmatik’s expertise in electronics manufacturing, whilst Newmatik puts our automation solutions into practice and develops them further. This results in a strong partnership that combines innovation, quality and regional value creation.

Background and requirements

  • Electronics manufacturing with a high degree of automation and express services such as 10-day rapid prototyping
  • The material flow begins at goods-in, which also serves as goods-out
  • All transport between machines and packaging stations had previously been carried out manually
  • Employees covered several kilometres per shift to supply the machines
  • Objective: to reduce the workload on employees and improve process efficiency
  • As a medium-sized company, Newmatik wanted to take a significant step towards automation
  • Newmatik initially acted as a supplier for BITO and later decided to implement LEO itself

Customer application

  • LEO handles the automated distribution of components and empty containers to machines and packaging stations
  • Reduction in manual handling and walking distances
  • Improved process reliability and time savings
  • Integration into the existing production environment without major modifications

Customer benefits

Thanks to the LEO solution, the following benefits were achieved:

  • Significant reduction in the workload on staff and physical strain
  • Greater efficiency and shorter lead times
  • Fewer errors thanks to automated material supply
  • Contribution to the digitalisation strategy and implementation of modern, networked manufacturing
