Our customer
The chemical company BASF SE Ludwigshafen has been operating a new technical material supply warehouse in Frankenthal since 2019/2020. Covering an area of 17,700 square metre, the site stores all the materials required by the entire BASF group, which has around 34,000 employees at its headquarters in Ludwigshafen and the surrounding sites.
Initial situation and customer requirements
- In a new central warehouse supplying the chemical plant, a wide range of goods arrive, are checked, stored and, if required, delivered within a few hours.
- 2 LEO AGVs are already in use to connect the Autostore facility with the goods-out area for courier, express and parcel service providers.
- Now another 300-metre route is to be automated using LEO AGVs to move goods from the incoming goods department through quality inspection to the Autostore facility.
